– create task lists and mark items done
– create notes directly from the pasteboard
– drop text files or folders

Yeah something happened with this. Idk if There was a mac security update that bypasses the firewall and checks the verification of the app. Apparently now Apple checks via 2 methods where as before it was only 1 method. And that one method was easy to get around. But now even with blocking outgoing connections from this application, it stopped opening.
(and NO this is NOT the basic SIP, Gatekeeper, and sudo xattr issue like idiots on this site always seem to never understand even though it’s been described 3 million times)
This is a weirder issue. Also it only occurs with the more updated versions after 1.2 for this app, unfortunately.
In order to check what the error was, since the app simply just doesn’t start up or nothing. Something seems to be blocking it from opening. So I ran it through terminal to see what error messages might pop up…..
– This is the ERROR MESSAGE (when running through terminal by entering the “package contents” and entering “MacOS” to find the “executable” file:
*******
ERROR is:
library not loaded….no suitable image found
********
(also says a whole bunch of other garbage, but that’s basically the most important one)
Don’t know if you came across anything like this. (For the record, I have even disabled verification checks, gatekeeper checks and other fun stuff that Apple doesn’t like you doing, and the issue still persists)
need turn off SIP , really need a new version without do it :(
Unable to open after running sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SideNotes.app on terminal. Tried to uninstall and running xattr -cr /Applications/SideNotes.app too but the app still won’t open. I’m running Monterey 12.3.1 on an M1 Macbook. Does anyone have any solutions? Thank you
Does not work for me as well. This SIP is a fuckinh thing
please help. I need this but it is not opening. It asks to disable SIP which is risky.
You’re such a goddamn pussy. If you’re too scared and it’s too “risky” for you then go cry elsewhere snowflake. You kids are a joke.
it is not opening only tried terminal already
Just want to say i loved the NEW design of MacDrop.net front-end
it’s really good and nice to see the new “Update” feature for updated apps.
does not open in m1 mac 12.1 have used
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SideNotes.app
This needs an update oh beautiful admin. Love you!
Done
dude. I got on randomly even though I have been checking daily. And I wasn’t looking for this specifically today but I am scrolling down and I see it. You are fucking sex. Thank you ma brotha. Much appreciated. Seriously. Wish you the best man.
Works like a charm
I run the terminal and it said need a password, What is the password??
In Terminal run the command and use you mac user password.
App wont started, popup shows up: sidenotes is damaged and cant be opened
Install to Applications Folder and run this in Terminal:
sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SideNotes.app
Another similar way to run is RighClick the app, and select “Open”.
By using Righclick to open the app first time, MacOS bypass gatekeeper (and no damaged message) thus trusting the app and never asking anymore on further runs.
Gatekeeper is just a fake psychological sense of protection from Apple. Useless. ahhaah
